Following on from our amazing activity day at Arcadia on the river we decided to head back upstream, this time to a bar called The Green House as we had heard that they rented out stand-up paddle boards and we all wanted to give them a go. the Green House was
just down the river from Arcadia and from their jetty you could see all the toys of Arcadia just up the river. As it turned out they only had 2 oars for the stand-up paddle boards and so we decided to rent 2 paddle boards and a 2 person Kayak, having 2 people on each paddle board.
All seemed to be going well until Tim and I launched in our Kayak. It was not long before we realised that having the 2 heaviest people in the Kayak together was not a wise idea. We instantly took on water but because it was completely sealed didn’t sink. We tried to stick with it but
it wasn’t long before we knew it was a bad idea. Since we were not gliding across the water we were badly effected by the current and couldn’t seem to even remotely keep up with the other guys or manage to get it to go in a straight line. Instead we headed back to the dock and got ourselves another Kayak so that we went out with one each. It was so obvious what a difference this made and we caught up to everyone else in no time at all.
At first we didn’t think that an hour out on the water would be long enough but it wasn’t long before we were all tired and decided to head back at nearly 1 hour on the nose. It was nice to just chill out on the jetty for a while, drinking
some beers and chatting while some people decided to swim for a while. Unfortunately the weather decided to turn on us and it started to shower so we had to run for cover and hide in the chill out hammock area under the decking. It is a hard life when you are “forced” to relax in a hammock for a few hours, listening to music and chatting with friends.
We stayed at The Green House for a few more hours to watch the sunset before eventually heading home having run up a quite impressive tab for somewhere so cheap. Certainly a night to remember and hopefully I have many more like that.

Such hard work enjoying yourselves so much. Looks fabulous xxxxx
