On Sat night loads of people from Tiger headed across to the Surf house for some drinks and generally letting their hair down. A group of us decided to meet up before hand for the worse planning session in history. Ursi was trying to get people to decide what to do (go to the Surf house or head straight to Patong) which just made Michelle angry and resulted in us all getting stared down and told off by an aggressive South African on crutches! The youngest of the group had spoken and we were instructed we had to go to the Surf house since Noah really wanted to go and was leaving in a few days and then from there we would go to Patong where she would meet us. After a little more messing about we finally headed off to the Taxis and made our way across to the Surf house.
The Surf house (www.surfhousephuket.com) is basically a bar located right on Kata Beach, a stones throw from the sea, that has a massive flow boarding set up. For those who don’t know what flow boarding is, it is basically a man made surfing setup. The water is blown up a hill using high powered water jets so that people can then surf down it without all the complexities of having to actually wait for a wave and the water is always uniform. Usually they have them indoors, however this one is outside next to the beach with a bar built around it.
It was pretty awesome to be there and watch some pretty impressive people surf while DJ’s played music and everyone partied around them. There were also quite a lot of people from Tiger there so it was good to be able to chat to the people you are used to training with in a more relaxed sort of environment. The motto here is “Train Hard, Party Harder!” and I think that certainly happened at the surf house. Some of the trainers were even dancing on their chairs and tables when the music was good so it was an awesome sight.
The group I was with ended up stood about the bar that opened onto the street as it was the nearest one to us when we got there. Safe to say that Tequila slammers happened… and happened a few times! All of a sudden we heard the sound of motorbike engines revving really loudly and turned around to see some guys doing burnouts in the street. At first we didnt have a clue what was happening but then noticed that there were quite a few of them and all of them had protective equipment (something quite rare for Thailand). It turned out that they were all from a motorcycle stunt team and they started doing tricks and stunts in the street outside the bar. That just made the whole scene crazy with all the music blasting, surfing one way, dancing another and motorbikes flying about. I did start to get some video of it all on my phone before it died so I will get that off of there later and get it uploaded.
Just when we thought the excitement had
finished a group of B-boys turned up and started break dancing in the street which again formed a massive crowd of people. The atmosphere was crazy and everyone was having a great time. Due to my phone battery being so low I didnt get a chance to take many pics but luckily there was a photographer at the event so I have appropriated some of the pics from their Facebook page of some of the friends I was there with.
By about midnight we all decided to dive in a Taxi and head to Patong as some of the group hadnt been out there yet and wanted to see it before we left. Again we decended into the Chaos that is Patong on any night, never mind it being a Sat night. Michelle had messaged us to say that she was in a Club called Seduction and as is the usual case in many clubs ladies get in free and the guys have to pay! Once inside we searched everywhere for her without much luck but eventually found her partying and living it up in the VIP section, making herself right at home.
The rest of the night was spent chatting and dancing away in the RnB / Hip hop room before finally getting unhealthy drunk food (Burger King) and heading back to Tiger in a sleepy drunken state.
It was an amazing night out and I’m really glad the guys invited me along. It went from me knowing a few of them enough to say Hi to becoming really good friends in just a few hours and that is what I am really loving about travailing (even though I have barely started yet!)

This again looks freaking amazing. Mate… Jealous doesn’t even come close, I with I was out there with you! You’re looking good too! Keep up the training!
