I am sad to announce that last night, Thursday the 4th of June 2015 I said goodbye to my favourite hat. Well actually I wish I had a chance to say goodbye to it but the fact is that I left it in the back of a car, never to be seen again. It was my favourite hat in the world and has served me well over the last 4 months so I am sad to see it go.
To be fair it was probably time for me to move on as it did have months worth of Asia sweat in it. I had just hoped that I could say goodbye on my own terms, laying it to rest in a box somewhere or maybe even having a little funeral pyre.
I now feel quite naked and vulnerable 🙁 I am sure I can survive this though people so don’t worry.
I think it best oh wise one that seeing as it is a hot country you do seek out and find another hat to help you complete your journey. Or in other words dont you bloody dare risk getting sun stroke now. Love you lots untie Julie xxx

Then I find this! I feel your loss my friend. A good accessory is hard to find. And when you find ‘the one’ and you create that bond, it’s even harder to say goodbye.

lol Daniel feeling your pain…as you know I too am a avid cap wearer and while I can empathise with your loss nothing can close the wound of losing your cap and not knowing where you lost it.
At least you can have the joy that your cap will not be lost to the ether but will continue its journey on the head of an Asian taxi driver.
Do not mourn for you cap Daniel but wish it well on its journey around Asia
Thank you for your condolences. I am no longer in Asia though, I am back in New Zealand. And I lost it in the back of a cop car (long story, it was dark and they gave me a ride up a hill). Even went to the police station to try and get it back 🙁
Like the way you quickly glossed over being in the back of a cop car. Will we be able to recognise you in future photos without that hat lol xxxx
yeah thought you might get the wrong idea 😛 I was just walking home and they insisted on giving me a lift. Well cheaper than a Taxi 🙂
