Today I woke up nice and early to take in the 6.30am yoga class as the sun started to rise. I thought that a nice little stretch would make to a relaxing start to my morning and be chilled out with no effort at all. I was wrong.

Within 5 Mins of the class starting I was sweating buckets in the humid heat and struggling to keep up with all the yoga short wearing ladies. You see, yoga is hard. Like really hard if you do it properly. The core strength involved is beyond me and I really didn’t imagine it to be as physically demanding as it proved to be. I expected to have issues with flexibility but not strength, Strength is something I have boatloads of and I’ve never had much of an issue with that sort of thing before. Holding the positions is really tough and the only solice I had was that other (much fitter) people were also having similar difficulty.

I think it is something that I would like to keep doing as the premise of it is so simple yet it is that difficult that the benefits must be worth it.

Time for breakfast then on to BJJ

  1. All real badmen swear by yoga. Increases strength and flexibly and is apparently one of best for shifting excess weight from areas to tone up as well
