The issue with technology is when it stops working. The issue I’m having with technology is that it has stopped working in way I hadn’t anticipated in a location that is awkward at the most inconvenient of times.
Let me explain. Currently I am in Siemens Reap in Cambodia to meet up with my friend Ursi so that we can travel Cambodia together. Our main form of contact over the last few months has ben Facebook and this has always worked out just fine for us. The problem at the moment though is that a daily citywide power cut means there is basically no internet at the moment and the mobile network is getting thrashed so hard that it also doesn’t really work properly.

Now I know that Ursi is in the city as she arrived last night with her parents. I also know that she is not at the original hotel they booked as they had issues due to the power outages (and the heavy rain that was the original cause of it all) so they checked into another hotel. I went there this morning but they had checked out to go somewhere else but I have no clue where at the moment.

Hopefully the power will come back on tonight and I will be able to message her again and arrange something. Until then I shall just wonder the city, avoiding tuk tuk drivers who insist on giving me the best deal Β then look at me like a fool when I say I want to walk.

Guess this is all part of that adventure. “Remember that one time when I flew to Cambodia to meet a friend and then couldn’t find her”. Sure I’ll laugh about it one day πŸ™‚

I’m an expert on issues with technology! πŸ™‚
Just got home from a week in Grassington (technology problems there) so catching up on your news now. As Shell says, you are coping with everything thrown at you and treating them as opportunities. These will be the things you remember. Keep calm and carry on!
    love Auntie Susie xx

  3. Knew I should have commented before Auntie susie. Told her last night we think alike and she comments what I am thinking. So she already said it all. Proud of you. Love you xxxxx

1 – I hope that someone (DC?) is backing up everything and then making a copy – just to be sure! πŸ™‚
2 – It is all really, really good to say that it is all of Hexthorpe Flatts!

  6. oh dont worry everything is being backed up multiple times. Not taking chances of loosing things.

  7. He really did leave the country this time Susie. I checked up after that photo album trick they played on me last year. Said it was Dusseldorf when it was Elmfield Park. Then had nerve to be amazed that I recognised it xxx
