The best things about going away and travelling without much of a deadline to be home is that when someone says to you “Hey do you fancy going to Cambodia for a few weeks?” you can just say “Sure, why not!” without having to worry too much about things like work and plans about how to manage your time. So when I was asked this question a few weeks ago it seemed like a pretty good plan to me!

Now a lot of people are going to say things like “Why didnt you just visit more of Asia… when you were in Asia?” and those people have a point, however I do have my reasoning. I could have stayed longer in Asia when I was there the first time but I also wanted to get to New Zealand in time to catch the end of the summer here and also see my friends CB and Audrey before they left travelling again so time was a bit against me. At the time I also wasnt quite sure about doing loads more travelling by myself and so chose the simpler option of continuing on my original mission. Now things are a little different and it is getting a little colder here so it seems like it would actuall be a good idea to evacuate New Zealand for a while during Autum to somewhere warm and then come back in a month or so when winter has set in properly. I intend to go back to Wanaka which is a town that comes alive during ski season so it should be pretty busy and hopefully I can somehow manage to find a job and do a little work for the winter so that I can stay and try some of that snowboarding business myself.

Being the super last minute man I am and also having my mothers genetic ability to hunt for a bargain I have only just managed to get my flights sorted at the price I wanted, just a few short days before I fly out which means that in less than a week I will by leaving this beautiful land to travel half way across the world again to see more wonders and amazing sights. Lets just see how long I can keep on this rollercoaster for!

  1. Sounds fabulous. Saw the photos cousin Neil took of his trip to Ankor Wat and it looks amazing. Wish I was coming along. Think you should get in touch with a travel magazine and show them your blog. Might get work writing a column or even on tv. Now that would be an ace career change. Take care. Love you xxxxxx

  2. Yeah that would be a dream job but I think I have a long way to go before I am that level. For a start I never proof read anything at the moment as I try and do it all quickly which does leave me with spelling and grammar problems quite often! I’m sure that if I did spend a bit more time on the blog though and treated it more like a job (as Cunni has already suggested) then I could make something come of it. Would probably be better off with some sort of video blog on youtube or something to maybe get some more views 🙂

  3. I could proof read and correct spelling. No problem. The content is already brill and good reading. As good as any magazine article I have read. Don’t sell yourself short xxxxx
